NEW YORK CITY: The Drama League announced the winners of its eighth annual Drama League Awards, in a ceremony at the Marriott Marquis Times Square. The awards recognize artistic achievement on and Off-Broadway. Among the recipients were Hadestown and The Ferryman, and special prizes were given to Kelli O’Hara, Bryan Cranston, Alex Timbers, and Taylor Mac. In addition to the awards, the Drama League has named its 2019 directing fellows: NJ Agwuna, Sharifa Elkady, Raz Golden, Chika Ike, Rebecca Marzalek-Kelly, Ismael Lara Jr., Amanda McRaven, Lindsey Hope Pearlman, Ben Randle, Tai Thompson, Gabriel Torres, and Sophia Watt. The Drama League Awards were first given in 1922, making them the oldest theatrical honors in the United States.
