Rebecca Marzalek-Kelly is a Brooklyn-based director and choreographer originally from Vermont. She’s a 2019 Drama League New York Directing Fellow. Through her fellowship she directed The Drowning Girls at The New Ohio Theater as a part of DirectorFest. She also assisted Laura Kepley on Into the Breeches! at Cleveland Play House and will be assisting Mike Donahue on Bakkhai at Baltimore Center Stage. Her work has been seen at BAM (Fisher), The Public Theater, PS122, BRIC House, The Bushwick Starr, and Terminal 5. She's directed multiple productions with the experimental company Fovea Floods, highlights include Fasten and The Turn of the Screw. She assistant directed with LAByrinth Theater while in residence at The Public Theater. As a guest artist at Skidmore College, she directed Radium Girls, Who Will Carry the Word, and Let the Right One In. She was a directing observer on Hadestown at the Walter Kerr Theatre observing director, Rachel Chavkin. Through TCG and the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, she’s a three-time Leadership U(niversity) Serving the Field grant recipient. Her training includes Williamstown Theatre Festival, SITI Company Summer Intensive, SDC Foundation Observership Class, and a B.S. in theater from Skidmore College. She’s a member of Lincoln Center Theater Directors Lab.
